Andrea Bain-Frye, Holistic Psychotherapist

Integrative care honoring the wisdom of your mind, body, and spirit.

I am Andrea, and I companion individuals as they navigate the complexities of their inner landscapes. My approach is rooted in the belief that healing is not just about talk, but about reconnecting with the innate wholeness that exists within you. I support those seeking relief from complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and the quiet weight of disconnection, providing a space where your entire self is welcome.

In our work together, I draw from specialized tools like EMDR to process difficult memories, Internal Family Systems (IFS) to harmonize different parts of your personality, and somatic interventions that listen to your body and it's unique language. By also considering how nutrition and lifestyle impact your nervous system, we create a sustainable path toward balance and restorative well-being.

About Andrea

I graduated from the University of Toledo in 2017 with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I began my career working with children who had experienced trauma, as well as with families navigating significant disruptions in the family system. Early in my training, I received instruction in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Functional Family Therapy (FFT), both of which shaped my understanding of trauma, attachment, and the impact of adverse experiences on the developing brain.

Over time, I recognized a deeper need for integrative and holistic approaches that help clients process trauma—not only through cognitive insight, but through the body and nervous system as well. This led me to additional training in Polyvagal Theory and somatic approaches, including  principles from Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine).

While serving as a clinical director at a local homeless shelter, I worked closely with individuals with complex trauma histories. This experience deepened my commitment to expanding my clinical toolkit and providing more advanced, nervous-system–informed care. I went on to pursue EMDR training and certification, as well as EMDR-informed Internal Family Systems (IFS) work.

I later completed IFS Level 1 training, 200-hour yoga teacher training, and advanced training in nutrition and integrative medicine for mental health providers. My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens not only through insight, but through the integration of mind, body, and nervous system regulation.

Outside of my clinical work, I prioritize my own nervous system health through time in nature, running, and hiking, yoga, meditation and journaling. I believe deeply in the role of the outdoors, movement, and connection to the natural world as part of the healing process.
